Mentors themselves seem to be evergreen:

Mentoring can give even the most experienced leaders fresh ideas, and help them stay ahead of the curve when it comes to understanding the challenges facing the next generation of campus recreation professionals.

Mentor Match Program

The campus rec community is famous for its culture of sharing: Career professionals generously give of their expertise to help up-and-coming colleagues succeed; one way to tap into that culture is through NIRSA’s formal Mentor Match program. The NIRSA Mentor Match program pairs NIRSA members with someone who can give the kind of insight that can be hard to come by through local connections or existing networks.

Informal mentoring

Mentorship is a cornerstone of NIRSA. Enduring relationships might ignite informally in a hallway during a NIRSA learning event, during a breakout room of an online roundtable discussion, or while volunteering at a NIRSA Championship Series championship tournament.

Celebrate the generosity of mentors

Many emerging NIRSA members have benefitted from having the path to student success clearly defined by an exceptional NIRSA mentor. Each year, the Horace Moody Awards are given to one NIRSA professional member from each of the seven NIRSA regions to recognize their contributions to student development.
